Officer, Accommodation Registration and Grading (Short Term Letting Registration)
Specified Purpose Contract, Full-Time*

Job Purpose:
This role sits within the Sector Development Directorate in Fáilte Ireland. The successful candidate will play a key role in the Division responsible for the new Short-Term Letting Register and the future development of the accommodation quality system, supporting the sustainability and further development of the Irish accommodation sector.
This is a results-focused role, requiring a professional with strong project management skills. Experience of process development and project management are integral to the position.
The successful candidate should have knowledge and experience of the national accommodation sector and more generally hospitality and tourism in Ireland. The successful candidate will be working cross-functionally with other teams and stakeholders and must be able to demonstrate excellent relationship management skills.
Primary Objectives/Key Responsibilities
Registration and Grading
Support the delivery, launch and implementation of the Short-Term Letting (STL) register, in line with defined objectives, timelines and budgets.
Proactively work with the senior team to implement the strategy for the new Short-Term Letting (STL) accommodation registration process.
Work closely with ICT team on the continued development and launch of STL registration system, ensuring it meets user needs and aligns with legislative requirements. Develop supporting processes, including data management and reporting.
Support the alignment of existing tourist accommodation registration systems with the STL Register
Design and improve processes, using data and insights, stakeholder feedback, value propositions, and implementation plans
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support the successful rollout of the STL Register
Directorate
Collaboratively work across the Registration & Grading Division, and wider Directorate as required.
Manage internal relationships to support the accommodation sector, which requires flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of industry and the market.
Operational Resource Management
Support the Division and contribute to developing its reputation with all external and internal stakeholders.
Positively contribute to the delivery of agreed team goals and KPIs aligned to the divisional plan and corporate objectives.
Manage and support the development of the team members reporting into this position.
Work closely with Compliance and Quality Assurance teams on supporting processes stemming from implementing the new STL register.
Support the internal teams in reporting on data, impact, and learnings.
Support the management of allocated budget lines.
People Management
Train, evaluate, motivate, develop, delegate, and monitor the work outputs of reporting team members.
Conduct Performance Reviews in line with Fáilte Ireland policy.
Carry out all other duties as required and participate as a full member of the Accommodation Registration & Grading Team by supporting different work projects, as required, from time to time.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years’ successful experience at an operational management level that includes project management, process development and stakeholder engagement. We are looking for an individual who has demonstrated a capability to implement complex projects and has well developed interpersonal skills and has demonstrated an ability to build strategic partnerships. A structured approach with experience of working on consumer-facing projects with significant online elements is also required.
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Experience in developing, documenting, implementing business processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Project management experience with a passion for innovation and best practice.
- Articulate communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with evidence of building effective partnerships
- Experience of GDPR and experience managing data securely, with a focus on compliance and integrity.
- Ability to work on own initiative.

- Minimum of three years successful experience in a process driven role.

- Ability to manage large data sets and databases using CRM systems and Power BI, with experience in generating reports.
Qualifications/Mandatory Training
- A Professional Qualification (minimum Level 6 under the QQI Framework) in a related discipline is essential.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of working in tourism or the tourism accommodation sector
- Experience of managing and developing customer-facing online portals and processes.
- Experience in developing performance metrics or KPIs.
- People management skills.
